Il punto di congiunzione tra il connettore e il sensore \u00e8 la parte pi\u00f9 delicata dell\u2019intero sistema. Le vibrazioni della macchina nei punti di saldatura possono far perdere la connessione ai connettori, con conseguenti errori di misurazione che, per essere corretti, richiedono che la macchina sia messa fuori servizio. \u00c8 meglio dunque evitare che si verifichino. Lo stato della connessione \u00e8 particolarmente importante per i sensori di forza e di coppia, come il K6D di ME-Me\u00dfsysteme. Gli estensimetri richiedono ben 24 contatti (6&#215;4) per essere connessi. A causa della crescente miniaturizzazione, i connettori devono essere sempre pi\u00f9 piccoli senza tuttavia perdere di potenza. Finora, l\u2019unico modo per trasmettere i segnali estensimetrici in modo affidabile era usare un connettore per estensimetro. Perci\u00f2, la sfida per i sensori di forza e di coppia era integrare tutti e 24 i contatti in un solo connettore.
